    Meeting with GCED stakeholders in Georgia

    Along with the Working Conference for GCED Training Course Development in Georgia, held from 16 to 17 May 2023 in Tbilisi, APCEIU had consultation meetings with various education stakeholders in Georgia.

    Working Conference for GCED Training Course Development in Georgia

    Georgia is in the final year of the 3rd round (2021-2023) of the GCED Curriculum Development and Integration Project (GCED CDI). National Center for Teachers Professional Development (TPDC), a local implementing institution for GCED CDI for Georgia, has been developing a GCED Training Course for teachers, school leaders, parents and community members from the perspective of a whole school approach.
    To support the development of the GCED Training Course, TPDC and APCEIU co-organized the Working Conference for GCED Training Course Development in Georgia, in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 17 to 18 May 2023. Participated by over 30 participants, including teachers, principals, professors and experts from public institutions and NGOs, the conference discussed key educational trends, issues and initiatives to assist with the course development.

    Korean Teachers Dispatched to Thailand

    Eight Korean teachers participating in the 2023 Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education (APTE) flew to Thailand to begin their educational activities.

    After completing the Pre-Departure Training at APCEIU in February and online lectures, the Korean exchange teachers participated in Local Adjustment Training from the 16th to the 19th of May. The Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education Thailand (OBEC) organized the training, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand, for Korean exchange teachers.

    National Workshop on GCED for Educators in Nepal

    APCEIU and UNESCO Kathmandu Office, in cooperation with Nepal National Commission for UNESCO, organized a one-day training workshop on 12 May 2023 in Kathmandu to bring together key educators in Nepal with the objectives of enhancing their capacities with recognition of the necessity of transformative education and an understanding of GCED.

    Over 60 government officials, teachers, teacher educators, professors, and education journalists gather to discuss the importance of bringing changes in education in Nepal, the changing role of teachers and newly required competencies, and how GCED can be effectively practiced in the context of Nepal.
